Elizabeth Maria Brooklyn: Noel lives in Williamsburg Virginia during the revolutionary war in 1775-1778-ish. When her father goes away to fight she has many adventures with her best friend Katherine. Holly Violet Clemmings: Holly lives in Hartford Connecticut during 1854 Her best friend Noel moves to Hartford after being a slave in South Carolina. Holly is very exited about a new friend but sad too. Noel has grown-up being a slave and Holly has never had anything bad happen to her! but when a epidemic of yellow fever comes to town Holly and Noel have many dangoreus adventures!
